The CfSH (Code for Sustainable Homes) is a new method of helping builders create sustainable homes for future generations. There are several planning departments that require a CfSH assessment as part of planning and building control rules.

The usual requirement is for a Level 3 commitment, which requires reductions in energy and water usage below current building regulations. There are 9 areas of focus for a Code assessment, so this is more than a simple reveiw. For all levels of Code assessment, you must engage your assessor at the design stage.

You could be aiming for a carbon neutral home, which would be a minimum of Code level 5. This requires a lot of planning and a different approach to building, so please get me involved very early in the project.

Whatever your reason for wanting an assessment of your future home(s), you will want to work with a company that actually takes an interest in your project.
